1. Alba Casares, designer by nature or by nurture?
What it started as a crush, has ended up being a love of life. For my 16 birthday, my mom got me a ring that sparked my interest for contemporary jewelry. I started following the jewelers’ great work and that´s how I decided that I wanted to become one.
2. In which designer would you have like to reincarnate?
I think in none, it´s more interesting to watch them from the distance. Otto Kunzli it´s one of my favorites.

3. Do you get inspiration while working or suddenly inspiration comes up?
I guess I´m in constant alert, anyway, when I define a piece is always while I´m working. In jewerly, the work in the studio is very important, when I´m sitting in the studio I have great confidence in intuition, even in mistakes.

Changes
5. Something that you would never dare to design…
I Still haven´t found it, but don’t doubt that, if I find it, I will do it.

ironic, aesthetic and timeless
7. Are you loyal to yourselves or your audience?
I have to confess that I´m the first one to wear my jewelry
8. Your last acquisition is…
I would love to say it was a jewel, but my last acquisition was a CD.
9. An indulgence you can’t afford…
Vacations
10. Who would you love to wear your designs?
Everyone who wants to wear them. But what I would really love seeing someone wearing one of my jewels.
11. Do you have any advice for someone willing to follow your steps?
Take risks and bet on their work. If you want to succeed you have to take total implication, so be brave.

1. Alba Casares, ¿amor a primera vista o una larga amistad?
Lo que empezó como flechazo ha acabado siendo un amor para toda la vida.Para mi 16 cumpleños, mi madre me regaló un anillo que despertó mi interés por la joyería contemporania. Empecé a seguir el trabajo de los grandes joyeros y así decidí que yo también quería convertirme en uno.
2. ¿En qué diseñador de (moda/complementos) te gustaría haberte reencarnado?
Creo que en ninguno, me parece interesante observarlos desde la distancia.
Uno de mis favoritos, Otto Kunzli.
3. ¿Te inspiras sin parar de trabajar o se enciende una bombilla de repente?
Supongo que estoy en constante alerta. De todas formas, siempre se acaba definiendo una pieza cuando me pongo a trabajar.
En la joyería, el trabajo de taller es muy importante. Confío mucho en la intuición e incluso en el error cuando me siento en el taller.
4. Un reto para Alba Casares es…
El cambio.
5. Un objeto que nunca te atreveríais a diseñar…
Todavía no lo he encontrado pero aún así, no dudes que si lo encuentro lo haré.

Irónicos, estéticos y atemporales
7. ¿Eres fiel a ti mismas o al público?
Tengo que confesar que la primera en llevar mis joyas siempre soy yo.
8. Última adquisición…
Aunque me encantaría poder decir que es una joya, mi última adquisición fue un cd.
9. Un capricho que no te puedes permitir…
Tener vacaciones.
10. ¿Quién te gustaría que se pusiera tus joyas?
Quién quiera llevarlas. Lo que sí me encantaría, es un día encontrarme por la calle alguien llevando una de mis joyas.
11. ¿Algún consejo para los que quieren seguir tus pasos?
Que se arriesguen y apuesten por su trabajo. Se necesita total implicación para salir adelante así que seamos valientes.
