Mademoiselle, lingerie fluorescent

I’ve never seen anything like it. Since I came to this century I have been seeing things that I can’t understand how women buy. Oh! Sorry, I didn’t introduce myself. I am Marie Antoinette, the last queen of France. Now I’m just Mary A., nobody knows me. For everyone I just look like anyone else walking through the crowded streets of the Spanish capital.

As a fashion lover, I can’t help to look at what women wear and how they wear it. My biggest concern is that I also have to buy what the stores are selling. I do not know where to start and certainly, I can’t find a dress that resembles those of my time (XVIII century).

The first step was to ask someone on the street, but … I found it before. I saw at a window in the street Princesa clothing that was full of holes miniature clothes, did not even know that was something useful. I do not quite understand. And these colors? It was the first time I saw something so colorful, bright, I don’t even know how to describe it, something so…

Jamás había visto nada parecido. Desde que llegué a este siglo no he parado de ver cosas que no entiendo cómo las mujeres compran. ¡Oh! Perdona, no me he presentado. Me llamaban María Antonieta, la última reina de Francia. Ahora sólo soy María A., nadie me conoce. A todos les parezco una más que pasea entre las calles tan abarrotas de la capital española.

Como amante de la moda no he podido evitar fijarme en lo que las mujeres llevan y en cómo lo llevan. Mi mayor preocupación está en que yo ahora, también tengo que comprar lo que las tiendas venden. No sé por dónde empezar y desde luego no encuentro ningún vestido que se parezca a los de mi época (siglo XVIII).

El primer paso era preguntarle a alguien de la calle, pero antes…lo vi. Vi ese escaparate de la calle Preciados lleno de prendas en miniatura y agujeros, ni siquiera sabía que eso era algo útil. No lo llegaba a entender. ¿Y aquéllos colores? Era la primera vez que veía algo tan colorido, brillante, no sé cómo describirlo, algo tan…

Entré a la boutique decidida a descubrir por mí misma lo que era. Perdone mademoiselle ¿qué son esas prendas que se muestran en el escaparate?

- Señorita, es lencería fluorescente.

Y entonces empecé a entender. Y aquella mujer me explicó:

La lencería flúor brilla, son colores llevados a su máxima expresión. Son diferentes, innovadores, modernos y con un diseño especialmente atractivo recordando a los años 80. Colores cítricos pintados como luces de neón son en estas prendas combinados con puntilla y encaje.

En ese momento deseé tener un diccionario conmigo para entender lo que me decía. En fin…creo que me llevaré uno de esos. ¿Cómo se pone?
